HEPA FILTERS

HEPA filters are the Olympians of air filtration, used by both professionals and individuals. Pure Air Experts uses HEPA technology because it is proven time and time again that it is the most effective way to remove airborne particulates that can irritate the respiratory system and pollute the home environment. Air quality has a direct effect on your well-being and quality of life. Therefore, Pure Air Experts wants to ensure your air is free of pollutants and irritants that can bring you down.

History of the HEPA Filter?
First, what does HEPA stand for? It stands for High efficiency particulate air. These filters were first developed during the 1940s and used in the Manhattan Project which was chosen by the U.S. government because research showed that exposure to radiation was lethal, so they needed a way to protect the scientists from the spread of airborne radioactive particles. HEPA filters were the answer. After WWII, the technology was declassified and became available for commercial use and this is where HEPA become available to the public. If it is good enough for helping decrease the spread of radioactive particles, we feel it is certainly good enough for your home or business!

What are HEPA filters made of?
Filter mats are made of borosilicate fibers. These fibers are arranged so that they make a sheet. They are pleated to maximize surface area and offer the best filtration without taking up incredible amounts of space. When air flows through the filter mats, particles are trapped by the borosilicate fibers and removed from the airflow thus cleaning the air. The particles remain trapped in the filter as the clean air continues out of the filter. To be rated a HEPA filter, it must remove 99.97% of airborne particles .3 microns and larger.

Who uses HEPA filters?
Everyone! HEPA filters are the product of choice for many professional settings such as office buildings and hospitals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention even advised that healthcare professionals should use portable HEPA air purifiers to help combat the 2009 swine flu epidemic. However, HEPA filters are not just for professional settings anymore. Central and portable HEPA air purifiers have become an effective way to reduce indoor pollutants in the home. and make it easy for anyone to use this effective system. No matter what you setting, you can benefit from the use of HEPA filtration systems.

HEPA filtration has a long and rich history of providing top notch filtration that can be used in almost any setting. Installing a HEPA filtration system in your home or business can be the first step towards your well-being and overall quality of living. Don’t settle for polluted and allergen filled air.

HOME & OFFICE AIR QUALITY

Did you know?

  • The average person breathes in 50,000 pollution particles a day, and takes 20,000 breaths a day.
  • The number of people with asthma continues to grow. One in 12 people (about 25 million, or 8% of the U.S. population) had asthma in 2009, compared with 1 in 14 (about 20 million, or 7%) in 2001.
  • COPD is projected to be the third leading cause of death by 2020 with only heart disease and cerebrovascular disease accounting for more deaths.
  • For people who suffer from chronic nasal allergies, an air purifier can help alleviate common hay fever symptoms, according to the University of Maryland Medical Center.
  • The indoor pollution from toxic gasses such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), can be ten times worse than outside pollution.
  • The Center for Disease Control acknowledges HEPA air filter benefits by recommending that medical facilities use HEPA air purifiers to reduce the chance of the flu spreading and being passed on to others.
  • Doctors recommend HEPA air purifiers or air cleaners for allergy sufferers. Air purifiers for allergies rely on HEPA filter technology to safely and effectively trap airborne allergens and other pollutants.
  • The World Health Organization has estimated that more than half of all asthma and allergic responses are due to indoor Air Quality Testing contaminants.

HOME:
Many people don’t realize that our homes typically contain worse air than the air outside, which, ironically, we view as polluted. In fact, advances in modern construction are to blame. While home efficiency is our desire, modern construction techniques have created buildings that are air tight, allowing nothing to escape, including household pollution. This also means household pollutants and allergens that are brought into the home from outside, are trapped. They will remain in the home until air filtration takes place.

OFFICE:
We spend on average 40 hours a week in our offices. Consider that, according to recent studies by environmental groups in the US and Canada, office pollution is often at extremely high levels, much higher than at home due to the presence of toxic dust. Long-term exposure to this kind of workplace pollution can cause significant problems, including developing asthma and allergies. Whether for your home or office needs, Pure Air Experts will create an air quality solution, customized specifically to your needs. All environments should have proper ventilation and filtration and the most advanced filtration technology on the market.

Once installed we will never leave you in the dark. Our team of expert air professionals can help you determine maintenance needs and provide their expertise whenever needed. Start your path to a healthier you by contacting Pure Air Experts today! We’d be happy to consult with you.
